Support
When news of the pandemic struck, Assurant acted very quickly, we began in March by:

  • Confirming the business continuity plans in place not only for us but also our insurer partners and claim lines.

We then began:

  • Contacting all our supporting adviser firms during lockdown to check in with how they, their families and their business was doing and offered our ongoing support.
  • Offering policyholders payment holidays or reduced premium options where they were in difficulty to pay their premiums.
  • Giving (and are still offering) a Friends and Family 35% discount offer to supporting brokers and their staff.

We work directly with mortgage brokers and financial advisers and are also partnered with mortgage clubs and networks. You will not find the Assurant Intermediary products on any price comparison websites.

We offer 9 household and 4 landlord products from a panel of household name insurers through our Quoforma quoting platform. The Quoforma system also offers a dashboard where policy information and MI can be retrieved as well as being a resource centre to help train or refresh knowledge on Buildings and Contents insurance.

You can quote and sell the products yourself or you can refer your clients to us for us to do it on your behalf.

HOW IT WORKS

Offering general insurance products to your clients complements the advice you give on their mortgage and protection needs. It allows you to guide your clients on cover that they will need to buy and ensure they have appropriate cover in place.  

Home insurance is now offered from many places; online comparison sites, banks, supermarkets and even department stores. They will not know your client in the same way as you will or understand their full requirements for cover but they will be keen to get to know them; and they will contact your clients to offer them different products including financial services.

By helping your client to source and give them advice on their home insurance, you are ensuring that they have the right cover in place and at the same time, preventing another financial services business starting a relationship with them.
